An after-school resource center for under priviledged children
About The Program
Aata Paata Wadi, is an after school resource center for under privileged children studying in class V-VII where they learn spoken English as well as gain digital literacy to supplement their formal education. Children studying in local Government school coming from lower income segments are given opportunity to learn and experience through innovative techniques which otherwise is restricted to private schools.
The focus of this program is to:
- Provide computer skills
- Lay a good foundation for future English education
- Impart life skills
- Help children’s artistic skills to bloom

192 children have benefitted from our center and at present we have 41 children from a nearby Government School who are currently enrolled in this program in Thithimathi, Kodagu district.
Children were taken to Primary Health Center, Thithimathi for a health checkup. Height, weight, blood group and other ailments were checked and treated. Old clothes were distributed to these children.
Biocon Women’s Self Help Group, Thithimathi
The women’s self help group started in 2012 with 5 women from the local area to enhance their income and boost their self confidence. They are taught to make gift wraps and gift envelopes using local flora. The products are sold at Coffee Santhe - Bangalore, Orange County - Siddapur, Bamboo Club - Pollibetta, Nambikay - Madikeri and Nilgiris Supermarket - Gonikoppal.
